Our hospitalists are trained in internal medicine and are present in the hospital 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Patients who are seen by hospitalists will follow up with their regular doctors after leaving Capital Medical Center. Hospitalists do not see patients outside of the hospital. Hospitalists work in teams to coordinate care of the patient in the hospital and are responsible for ensuring that the patient’s usual physician is informed about their progress. Hospitalists facilitate improved communication with patients, families and the patient’s primary care physician.
