Contacts Devita Ledgister Shaolin monks have been practicing Kung Fu for over 1500 years, The Yi Jin Jing credits Shaolin Kung fu to Bodhidharma, which would make him an important influence on the martial arts of Asia in general.
Throughout the years the art form has been developed and has grown. Shaolin Kung Fu is most famous for its animal forms, although these are very good styles of Kung Fu, it doesn’t even scratch the surface of all the forms that have come into existence by either being a direct or indirect descendent of the Shaolin Martial Arts. Today we keep the traditions and the art form alive as we pass it on to students of all ages, and from all ethnical backgrounds.
In Shaolin, training encapsulates the elements of the mind, body, and spirit. Through Kung Fu’s various forms and movements, one will gain balance, rhythm, coordination, flexibility and strength – as well as the development of one’s Qi (pronounced “Chee”). We base our trainings as they are taught at the Shaolin Temples in China.
