Company Summary

Zagers Pool & Spa has a rather interesting history beginning in a family-owned hardware store in Jamestown, Michigan. In 1959 the Zagers purchased a doughboy pool for their own family and slowly purchased a few pools to sell in the hardware store. Some of the first Doughboy above-ground pools sold were actually installed on site by the Zagers family.



The Zagers Hardware store in Jamestown closed in the early 70's, and Zagers Pool opened in the Zagers family garage. A few years later a warehouse was built on property adjacent to the garage, and in 1981 showroom space was added to the warehouse. This became a stand-alone store in the heart of Jamestown. Bill Zagers sold the business to Ron and Nancy Zagers in 1982 with Bill staying very active in the operation of the store.



In 1990, Zagers Pool opened a second store on Lakewood Blvd in Holland, Michigan to better serve the lakeshore area. During 1991, Zagers began selling spas and soon added the word "spa" to their name to better describe the expanded emphasis of the business. Since that time, many new and exciting product lines have been added to the stores including Vita Spas and Reflections Hot Tubs, grills, toys, and in-ground pools. The stores have both expanded in size and personnel, but still continue to put the customer and service at the top of their list.



In 2005, Ryan Miedema, who had been the Jamestown store manager for many years, became the owner of Zagers Pool and Spa. He started working for Zagers while in high school, and brings many years of experience, innovation, and energy to the pool and spa business. Ryan spread the Zagers Difference even further with the opening of a third store in Grand Rapids!
